THE ENGLISH BUTLER'S SINK

For a Butler 's sink to fit properly into kitchen cabinetry, it needs to be a rectangular shape with a level top and vertical sides. While they are a handmade product and some variation is acceptable, too much irregularity makes it very difficult for cabinetmakers to fit them properly into kitchen cabinetry.

We have imported Butler ’s sinks for over ten years and have always inspected every sink we receive. As sink manufacturer’s management policies change, they seem to reduce their quality control standards below what we consider to be an acceptable level and dispatch sinks they would have previously rejected.

Several years ago we stopped importing sinks from Armitage Shanks for this reason and they have since closed their English factory. Since then we had been receiving good quality sinks from Shaws who are the last remaining English manufacturer. Unfortunately, their sinks have recently fallen in quality and with no outlook for any improvement , we have decided to stop importing them.

We are no longer importing any Butler's sinks but will resume doing so if we can find a source which is of merchandisable quality.
